Sense is sponsored in cooperation by two alpaca farms with over a decade of
combined years experience in the alpaca industry.
Through this seminar we will be opening our farms to folks who are interested in
learning more about breeding and raising alpacas either as a hobby or as a
business.
This informative seminar will take start at 9:00 a.m.
in Bergen, NY.
The seminar will be presented in three parts including both formal and informal
information sessions and hands-on experience for all participants.
If you've ever thought 'alpacas might be for me', opportunity is knocking and
this is the one you've been waiting for. Take advantage of the rare opportunity
to visit two farms back-to-back to learn how each operates their breeding
business. In the formal information session, we will cover topics including the
benefits of raising alpacas, the care and maintenance of alpacas, general
husbandry, the tax benefits of livestock ownership, what makes alpacas valuable
and just what we do with them. Each farm will also present an informal 'workshop
in the pasture' and discuss their day-to-day occupations. The hands-on
experience part of the seminar will offer you a close-up look at alpacas and
their luxurious fiber.
